There are many layers to personal health. Some of which are outside of our bodies and not always in our control - like Environmental Health. Spiritual Health is how people keep a connection to a higher power, be it through religion or another way. Personal Health is the group of the aspects of health you have agency over. Agency means having the ability to choose what to do.
The aspects of Personal Health are:
Health is determined by how well those different aspects are functioning. You know what’s wild? If one aspect isn’t doing all that well, it impacts all the other aspects. Think about it, if awuna mali to go to school or you don’t have a job and uya gowisha nge nxa ya lo nto - Mental Health is going to tank and then suddenly there’s backache in the mix, headaches, dololo energy for anything? Or if you get hurt and can’t walk for a few months healing from an injury from playing your favourite sport, your brain starts thinking the worst. Intrusive thoughts be like “I'm stuck here forever. My teammates will forget about me. My life is over. I’ll never be good at anything again.” Now you got dololo energy, not even for your favourite drama DiChipi? Yoh.
A healthy lifestyle is looking after those different aspects and when functioning well, those aspects have a way of spilling into each other. When you work out, you feel happier, mental clarity is your best friend and that helps you make decisions that improve finances. So yes chomi, all the cliches are true.
and it will all work out.
