Chomi!!!
What a month! February is the shortest month of the year but yeeey go ne go le busy. O kae tsala? How are you holding up? Listen, here there’s no tough gal act - we keep it real. And what a wow of a month it has been. Did your first time show you flames? Knees scraped from falling all over yourself so much? Are you still standing or are you in need of HAMGS (Help a Moghel Service)? Ke SOS chomi, re phounele Mama?
Being and young free in Southaa in the time of right now is a mazza, wherever you find yourself -whether you have a first year tertiary student - were late to class a lot because you got lost on that super huge campus, had your valaza with bae and you got into the business of baeship for the first time. Or you could have been the new girl at work. Probably the youngest on the team and the one who felt like you were underprepared and were terrified the entire time. Yoh!
The truth is you can’t make an omelet without breaking a few eggs mntase. So here are a few uncomfortable truths you need to get cosy with:
First times are generally meant to show you flames. It’s a first! No one is ever amazing at anything the first time they do it. That would be refinement and that only comes with first times and like a gazillion other layers of trying over and over again. First times are not glamorous. They are a reminder that life is real and keeps challenging you after the nicely lit selfie with the perfect filter has been posted on the gram. First times demand things of you absolutely do not have- relentlessly.
And when you rise to the occasion and feel like a big flop… right there chomi, khona lapho the seeds of your growth are being planted. So tell me, I want to know! What did your first time teach you about yourself?
